Marbella kommun vill återuppta planerna på att bygga en stor, allmän park intill den berömda Marbella-bågen. Marbellas borgmästare, Ángeles Muñoz, hoppas nu på att marken vid Finca El Pinillo, alltså intill bågen, återigen kan komma i kommunens ägo innan sommaren. Ett liknande projekt godkändes under Gil-eran på 90-talet, men verkställdes aldrig.
Den planerade parken skulle stäcka sig över ett 43 918 m2 stort område och ha bland annat promenadvägar och träningsområden, samt även en parkering i den norra änden. ”Tanken är att det ska bli ett stort grönområde som kan komplettera alla de andra promenadstråk som det arbetas på och som skänker värde till vår kust”, säger Muñoz.
