I många småbyar har det inte registrerats ett enda fall av coronasmitta. Å andra sidan bor det ofta många äldre, som är ytterst sårbara i tillfälle av smitta, i de mindre byarna. Därför har flera byar i hela Spanien tagit saken att skydda sig i egna händer. Det gäller bland annat i de två Málaga-byarna Alozaina och Benarrabá. I dessa två byar har man spärrat av alla småvägar som leder in till byarna så att alla fordon måste välja huvudvägen för att ta sig in och ut ur byarna. På dessa huvudvägar måste bilarna igenom en ”biltvätt” med desinficerande vätska. Dessutom har man, på många platser i byarna, ställt ut små poster med desinficerande vätska för handtvätt.
